Memory & CPU Limits in CodePair
Understanding resource limits for CodePair templates and how to manage performance
CodePair templates have configurable resource limits to ensure optimal performance during live coding sessions. These limits help maintain system stability while providing candidates with a responsive coding environment.
Available Resource Limits
CodePair V2 engine supports the following resource configurations:
Memory Limit
- Default: 1g (1 gigabyte)
- Purpose: Controls the maximum RAM available to the CodePair session
- Use case: Sufficient for most coding challenges and standard development tasks
CPU Limit
- Default: 2.0 (2 CPU cores)
- Purpose: Controls the maximum CPU processing power available
- Use case: Handles compilation, testing, and running applications smoothly
When You Might Need Higher Limits
Consider requesting increased resource limits if your CodePair templates involve:
- Large-scale applications with significant memory requirements
- CPU-intensive tasks like machine learning or data processing
- Complex build processes that require additional processing power
- Multiple concurrent services running in the same environment
Requesting Higher Limits
Need increased memory or CPU allocation for your templates? Our support team can help configure custom resource limits for your organization.
To request higher limits:
- Contact our support team at hello@codesubmit.io
- Describe your specific use case and requirements
- Provide details about the type of challenges you're running
- Our team will work with you to configure appropriate limits
Important Notes
- Resource limits are only available on CodePair V2 engine templates
- Default limits are suitable for most standard coding interviews
- Higher limits may be subject to additional pricing
- Resource limits apply per individual CodePair session
Tip: Most coding challenges work perfectly with default resource limits. Only request increases if you're experiencing specific performance issues or have specialized requirements.
