Invite candidates with due dates and time limits

Individual invites are the best option when your team wants direct control over who receives the assignment and what timing rules apply to that specific candidate.

How to send an invite

  1. Open the assignment you want to use.
  2. Select Invite Candidate.
  3. Enter the candidate's first name, last name, and email address.
  4. Optionally set a due date, a time limit, or both.
  5. Send the invite and track the candidate from the candidate list and timeline.

Due date vs. time limit

  • Due date: a soft deadline. Candidates still can submit after it passes, but the date helps keep the process on track and supports reminder emails.
  • Time limit: starts only after the candidate presses Start. It is not running just because the invite was sent.

Permissions to know about

Users with the Reviewer role cannot invite candidates. If someone on your team needs to send invites or manage invite links, update their access or ask an account admin to handle the workflow.

Good defaults

  • Use due dates to keep recruiting motion predictable.
  • Use time limits when fairness depends on each candidate getting the same active working window.
  • Keep your instructions clear if both are enabled so candidates understand the difference.
