If a candidate needs more time or needs to make a follow-up change, you can reopen the challenge from the candidate timeline instead of starting over.

What happens when you reopen

• The candidate receives an email notification.
• Access to the challenge is restored.
• Existing code and progress stay in place.
• The time limit resets to the assignment's original value.
• The candidate timeline is updated so your team can see the reopen event.

Recommended workflow

1. Open the candidate timeline.
2. Find the submitted assignment event.
3. Choose Reopen Challenge.
4. Confirm with your team how the reopened work should be interpreted during review.

When reopening makes sense

• A candidate hit a technical issue near the finish line
• Your team explicitly asked for a follow-up improvement
• You want the candidate to continue from the same repo instead of restarting
